Product Description

Tapered Bits Description:
Tapered button bits Comparing with taper chisel and cross bits, taper button bits have higher technology, much longer primary drilling time and higher drilling efficiency. According to the tungsten carbide insert, button bits can be divided into types of hemispherical, conical and parabolic button, etc.
Button bits with hemispherical button is for high bearing capacity and abrasive resistance while conical button and parabolic button are for high drilling speed and low abrasive resistance.
Made with high quality of raw material through special heat treatment ,especially, tungsten carbide of tapered button bits are from Boart long year, widely applied in Hand Hold ( short-hole) drilling system for dimensional stone quarrying.
Diameter of bits from 30mm to 50mm with 4 ,6,7,11,12 degree, premium alloy tapered drill steel with Hexagonal.22mm and Hexagonal.25mm,The deliver capacity are very strong and can completely meet customer's requirements on delivery design, number of buttons is 4,5,6,7,8,9,7 buttons is very popular for hold held (short holes ) and blast drilling system.

FAQ
Q: What's the difference between a copper taper drill bit and a regular twist drill bit?
A: The key differences lie in the cutting edge and flute design. Copper taper drill bits have sharper cutting edges and wider flutes, suitable for soft metals like copper and aluminum to prevent chip adhesion. Regular twist drill bits have larger cutting angles and narrower flutes, which tend to cause chip clogging and excessive burrs when processing soft metals.

Regular twist drill bits have larger cutting angles and narrower flutes, which tend to cause chip clogging and excessive burrs when processing soft metals.
Q: Why does a copper taper drill bit stick to the workpiece when drilling copper?
A: The main causes are excessively high cutting speed, no cutting fluid applied, or a dull drill bit edge, which leads to softening and adhesion of copper chips.
Q: Can copper taper drill bits be used to process stainless steel or wood?
A: Not recommended. Their cutting edge hardness and angle are optimized for soft metals. Drilling stainless steel will easily wear or chip the bit, while drilling wood may cause splitting and poor chip removal.
Q: How to extend the service life of a copper taper drill bit?
A: Maintain medium-low speed cutting, use cutting fluid throughout the process, clean copper chips from the edge in a timely manner, and store the bit in a moisture-proof environment.
Q: How to choose between a straight shank and a taper shank copper taper drill bit?
A: Straight shanks are compatible with electric hand drills and small bench drills, ideal for small-diameter drilling. Taper shanks require heavy-duty bench drills or radial drills, offering a more stable grip and suitable for large-diameter, high-load drilling tasks.
